Meet the Founder

Placem8 was created by Sanchit Monga, a software engineer with a passion for building user-friendly and innovative products. With a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and professional experience working on widely-used applications like QuickBooks, Sanchit has honed his skills in designing intuitive user experiences.

The idea for Placem8 was born out of a personal moment. When a friend from New York was visiting the San Francisco Bay Area, they asked Sanchit for recommendations on places to visit. As Sanchit started listing his favorite spots, he realized how tedious it was to share these recommendations—spanning from restaurants to iconic landmarks—and thought to himself: What if sharing personal favorite places was as easy as sharing a playlist?

That spark led to the creation of Placem8, a platform designed to make discovering and sharing favorite venues effortless. Sanchit envisions Placem8 as more than just a tool—it's a way to connect people through shared experiences and curated recommendations.
